Welcome Parents!

We are delighted to welcome your student to St. Paul’s Newman Center and to the University of Wyoming! Moving away from home is often as difficult for parents as it is for students. May you find great comfort in knowing that as a Cowboy Catholic, your student has a second family here at the Newman Center. One of the most exciting aspects of the community of St. Paul’s is the more than 500 resident families that pray with and grow alongside our college students. If he or she wishes, your student will have the chance to be adopted by a resident family. Depending on the desires of your student, these relationships vary from connecting a few times through the semester to weekly meals with the family.

As you’ve probably learned by now, there are more activities happening in Campus Ministry than your student will be able to take advantage of. In fact, one of the bigger challenges for students is realizing they have to say no to some offerings to keep life in balance. Our focus in Campus Ministry is inviting and enabling students to grow their relationship with Christ and the Church. We do this through Bible studies, small group meetings, service experiences, retreats, shared meals, and the celebration of the Eucharistic Liturgy.

Staying connected with you as parents is very important to us. We send out Cowboy Catholic newsletters twice a year and often other electronic updates about student activities. Please share your contact information in the form below. The essential work of Campus Ministry involves a team of ministers. We take pride in hiring well-formed and educated lay ministers and paying them a just salary. While the resident parishioners of St. Paul’s are very generous in supporting the work of Campus Ministry, the programming we offer would not be possible with your help. While your student is at St. Paul’s, please consider regularly supporting this parish as you do your home parish. You can set-up recurring donations here.
