Interested in Catholicism?
Are you interested in becoming Catholic, or perhaps curious about Catholicism and wanting to learn more? St. Paul’s Newman Center would love to join you on this journey! The process is called OCIA (Order of Christian Initiation of Adults), a year-long exploration through prayer, study, discussion, and personal and communal reflection.
For those not baptized, OCIA leads to full Christian initiation in the Roman Catholic community through the sacraments of Baptism, Eucharist, and Confirmation at the Easter Vigil liturgy (March 27, 2027 – the Saturday before Easter Sunday). Those who already have been baptized in a tradition other than Catholicism also can participate in OCIA, culminating in reception into the Catholic Church through a profession of faith, Eucharist, and Confirmation at the Easter Vigil.
Each of us comes to this journey at a different place. We are excited to meet you and to hear about your spiritual journey and how we can best accommodate your needs. Please set up an introductory meeting with Lillie Rodgers, Director of Pastoral Ministry via email: Lillie@newmancenter.org. We encourage you to attend Sunday liturgy to pray with us. Our weekly Liturgy schedule can be found here. Be sure to introduce yourself to Father Rob, our pastor, before or after! If you would like someone to attend liturgy with, please let Lillie know, and we can provide you with someone to answer questions and guide you through the experience.

Typical OCIA Schedule
Beginning mid-September: 6-week series on Christian Discipleship (Mondays, 6-7:30pm – includes dinner, short presentation or video, group discussion, and prayer)
*These gatherings are called the Fall Faith Series and are open to the entire parish.
Beginning mid-January until Easter: 8-week series on Catholic beliefs and prayer (Mondays, 6-7pm)
*These gatherings are for OCIA participants and their sponsors (if available).
Spring semester, participants will be asked to attend certain weekend liturgies as a group for special rituals and recognition by the wider parish community. There also is a liturgy at the Cathedral in Cheyenne with our Bishop for those who can make the trip.
March 27, 2027 (Easter Saturday): morning retreat
March 27, 2027 Easter Vigil (Saturday night): liturgy and sacraments!
