Formation

“Formation, or conforming ourselves to God, is not only about confirming who we are, but also risking becoming who we are not yet, and allowing others to do the same.”

My name is Lillie Rodgers, and I am the Newman Center’s Coordinator of Pastoral Ministry, which means that I have the joy of directing our adult and family faith formation programs. I have a passion for these two things since I am an adult (thank goodness), and, secondly, since I have a family here in Laramie. You likely will see my daughter Gracie Lu wreaking havoc around the Newman Center! When not wrangling her, I enjoy running, preferably in the mountains and oddly long distances. Sharing faith, working for justice, and building Christ-centered community are what brought me to the Newman Center from Chicago, and keep me here day after day.

We hope all our families and parishioners are doing well during this very difficult time. We know that Church can be a place of strength and support for our parishioners, especially when we need those gifts as much as we do now. The pandemic leaves us with so many questions for which we may not have the answers.  Yet, as disciples journeying the way of Christ, we all need formation; and as members of a community, we need one another to facilitate it and to walk alongside.

We are very carefully and thoughtfully preparing for a terrific year of faith formation at SPNC, and we hope you will be a part of it.  More information will come in the coming weeks.  For more information contact Lillie.

If your child is preparing to receive sacraments this year please contact Fr. Rob.
