Sacraments of Initiation

Baptism

Infant Baptism

Anyone interested in having their baby baptized needs to attend baptism preparation sessions. These sessions explore the meaning of the Sacrament of Baptism, explain the Rite of Baptism, and support parents and godparents in the Christian role of sharing faith with their children.  Email the office with any questions or to register.

First Eucharist

First Eucharist

At the heart of the Christian experience of God lies the great celebration of the Eucharist. Preparing children to eat the Body of the Lord and drink the Blood of the Lord for the first time is given special emphasis at St. Paul’s Newman Center. Parents have the privilege and the responsibility of preparing their children for this sacrament. Children need to have celebrated the Sacrament of Reconciliation prior to celebrating the their First Eucharist.  For more information please see our Education & Formation page.

Confirmation

Confirmation

Baptized members are asked to celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation during their seventh grade year. The spiritual formation process in preparation for this sacraments includes prayer, learning, small group discussion, and service. Please see our Education & Formation page for more information regarding Youth Confirmation. If you are 18 years of age or older, are a baptized Catholic, and have celebrated the Sacrament of Eucharist but were not confirmed, please email the office to begin preparing to celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation.

Reconciliation

Reconciliation

In the Sacrament of Reconciliation, we experience the mercy and healing of our generous God. Parents have the privilege and responsibility of preparing their children for this sacrament. Please see our Education & Formation page for more information. At the Newman Center we have the opportunity to receive and celebrate this sacrament every Saturday at 4:00 p.m.

Anointing of the Sick

Anointing of the Sick

The Sacrament of Anointing is offered to bring spiritual and physical strength during an illness or near the time of death. St. Paul’s Newman Center celebrates this sacrament on the second Saturday of every other month following the Saturday 5:00 p.m. Liturgy.

Marriage

We offer marriage preparation in both the fall (September to December) and spring (February to May). Couples must complete the following:

  • two general sessions
  • 3-5 meetings between the couple and a mentor couple to review the FOCCUS inventory
  • at least one individual meeting with Fr. Rob
  • an online Natural Family Planning course

St. Paul’s Newman Center works closely with the Diocese of Cheyenne Vocations Office when members of our community are interested in exploring a religious vocation.
